<p>A polymerisation reactor (7) is fitted with an axially-acting agitator which circulates the contents of the vessel parallel to the reactor wall and to the concentrically arranged internal coolers. The coolers consist of parallel bundles of from five to thirty or more thin "U"-tubes welded into a framework of metal plates at right angles to the tubes, which act partly as spacers and partly as flow diverters.</p> |
