The hollow building block is esp. suitable for building wall walls, with identical blocks arranged in different ways to provide a varied finish. it is suitable for embankments and comprises two or more axis-parallel hollow cylinders (2, 2') in shape, with the funnelled intervening space on one side filled so as to form a flat surface set parallel to the cylinders' central points connecting axis, with the opposite side left open. On both ends of the continuous cavity (10, 10') in each cylinder there is a sunken area (11, 12) wider than the cavity. One sunken area (11) has a series of teeth (14) along its edge (13), protruding beyond the block's end face (9). With blocks set at an angle to each other, enclosures for playgrounds, courtyards or parking places can be built.
