<p>A take-off mechanism for a loom, partic. a carpet loom weaving a double fabric which is slit horizontally forming two pieces, is fitted with needle cylinders for drawing the fabric out of the weaving zone. Each cylinder has a guide roller and the piece is led away between the roller and the cylinder to the winding reel. Each draw cylinder has a support ring which can be displaced circumferentially by an adjusting mechanism attached to the frame, and carries a support rail parallel to each draw cylinder to which projecting details are assembled for stripping the fabric from the needles. Pref. two support rings are provided for each cylinder to support the rail carrying the strippers and the rings fit on the cylinder journals. The support rings are adjusted by screws linked flexibly to the rings, the long axes of the upper and lower rings being aligned to each other. The stripped details consists of forks with wedge section tines inserted between the needles of the cylinder, and 1 stripper is allocated to each cylinder. Each adjusting screw may have a limit switch for stopping the machine and there may be an intermittenly working element such as a cam, acting on the screws to rock the stripper rail. The goods are released easily from the needle cylinder without any tension being exerted by the reel. the fabric cannot be retained by the needles and damaged. The simpler design makes it unnecessary to stop the machine for long whilst the reels of carpet are removed.</p> |
