Wiper pressure in screen printing is measured by placing a measuring gauge whose electric resistance changes with pressure, between wipe edge and base, esp. the screen printing stencil; the material to be printed upon, lying underneath the stencil. Screen print quality depends largely on wiper pressure which has hitherto determined by trial and error or, roughly, by pneumatically operating controls measuring pressure over the entire length of the wiper. This invention allows for local pressure measurement by means of a pressure gauge which is no thin that neither printing screen nor wiper can be damaged. Suitably the measuring gauge consists of a material e.g. metal-filled rubber, silicone or polyester rubber.
|
