The clamping arrangement consists of two identical half cylindrical shells (12, 14). One edge of the shell has a protrusion while the other edge has a cut-out. The protrusion from one shell half fits in the cut-out in the other shell half. The ends of the shell halves are shouldered (28, 30). The two shell halves are placed over a hose. A conventional hose clamp with tangentional mounting lugs is placed over the shell halves. The width of the hose clamp is smaller than the length of the shell halves between the shoulders. The clamp is then used to fix the hose to a frame. Due to the use of shell halves, the rubbing of the hose in the mounting clip is transferred into rubbing of the shell halves in the clip, and the wear on the hose is reduced.
