The invention relates to rigid containers such as tins made of a metal, intended for the hermetic packaging of roasted coffee products. The inside of the containers is coated with an "aroma solvent", such as a glyceride, a wax, a silicone, etc., which can effectively dissolve and distribute a wide variety of aroma ingredients. This ensures that the aroma is distributed between the coating and the headroom inside the sealed coffee-containing tin. It also prevents the coffee from acquiring a musty smell and/or undergoing oxidation in the sealed tins. The absorption of the aroma by the coating can also increase the aroma retention in the tin over a long period of use after opening it. |
