Morphine antagonistic meta-hydroxyphenyl-propyl-pyrrolidine-ethanol - useful in treatment of psychotic disorders

3-m-Hydrooxyphenyl-1-propylpyrrolidine-3-ethanol of formula (I) and its salts are new. (I) are prepd. by eliminating R in a cpd. (I; where OR replaces OH as substit. on benzene ring), where R is a cleavable OH-protecting gp. (I) and salts are useful in therapeutic compsns. They have morphine anatagonism properties and are useful in treatment of psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia. Daily doses are 30-300 mg./kg.
