Device for opening, by hand, tightly fitting closure of containers such as jam jars, fruit juice bottles, tobacco tins and the like, features a layer of material to be interposed between the closure and the palm of the hand of a person intending to remove the closure. Such material is adapted to increase friction between hand and surface of closure. The material is a thermoplastics whose surface is suitably structured and may have vaguely the shape of a hand. Suitable for use with so-called twist-open closures.
