Water-insoluble monoazo dyestuffs of the formula <IMAGE> wherein R is optionally substituted lower alkyl or phenyl, X is beta -hydroxyethyl or gamma -chloro- beta -hydroxypropyl, and Y is lower alkyl, a process for the manufacture of the said dyestuffs and their use for coloring synthetic textile materials in particular aromatic polyester textile materials.
