The thermo-electric assembly minimises the efficiency losses due to low heat conductivity of electrically isolating spacer elements and to the small spacing between 'hot' and 'cold' zones permitting thermal shunting. Electrical and thermal conduction to the P and N elements (4) is by common conductors (52, 53) suitably interconnected. These serve to conduct heat from the surrounding environment (2, 3) to the semiconductors which are in the form of slabs sandwiched between larger thermally isolating slabs (1). The conductors are in the form of rectangular 'S' shaped wings having a folding tongue mating with the semiconductor - insulation interface.
|
