DRIVING UNIT FOR SELF-PROPELLED CHOPPING-MACHINE

Forage harvester drive unit is coupled through turntable to the harvester forming the work unit and has drive axis and drive wheels, longways mounted motor and ground wheel drive. A base frame (1) formed from two stringers in the travel line and a drive axis (28) has a front frame (4) at right angles ahead of the drive (3) and a rear frame (5) which stands upright behind the drive at right angles to the line of travel. These two frames extend beyond the drive motor and form continuous channel frames in which the stay part of the rear frame is allocated to the drive motor so that the centre of the drive shaft lies in the centre of this stay. Both front and rear frames mount fittings and clad members (10, 11, 24, 25), with suction boxes (8, 9) left and right and suction entries (20, 21) and valves (22, 23). The drive axis (28) and wheels (29) and other driving components are at the front, below the main frame (1) and motor (3). The main frame terminates in a bottom crossbar (6) at the rear end.
