Buffer-type roller conveyor - has rollers driven by induction couplings which interrupt power flow as items accumulate

The buffer-type roller conveyor gives frictionless braking as the items accumulate. When this happens, the braking forces occuring at the periphery of the driven rollers are absorbed by frictionless induction couplings, which interrupt the power flow from the drive, and restore it when the obstruction is removed. The release torques of the couplings can be adjustable, to allow setting of the accumulation pressure to the minimum to suit the items handled and the length of the buffer section. The rollers can be supplied in sets with release torques set to different values, for insertion at points in the conveyor track.
