The wind and wave power plant has a fixed construction, which is erected on the sea bed close to the coast. Alternatively, it can be a floating construction anchored on the sea. There is a number of bracket wheels (W) which can be raised or lowered to bring them into contact with the water surface. A set of flywheels (F) is fixed to shafts, which can be coupled with the bracket wheels. The flywheels can be coupled with each other so that the power transmitted from the bracket wheels can be taken from the main shaft, which is coupled with the first set of flywheels. The same principle is applied to wind power by using a number of windmills as prime movers.
