In the gas turbine unit a fluid in heat exchange with the gas flow can be introduced past the compressor, (1) and in particular into a part of the turbine (13). Thus, the fluid is vapourised and flows with the gas current towards and through one or more downstream parts of the turbine. One or more combustion chambers (7) in the unit have a cooling jacket (10 11) through which the fluid is fed, and which has holes (12) through which the fluid, after cooling the chamber(s) is brought into the gas flow. The hole dimensions are matched to the pump capacity which causes the fluid to circulate.
