The invention relates to a device for triggering an action on an automobile door leaf (7), wherein said device includes a capacitive sensor (3) including a plurality of electrodes (9a, 9b, 9c, 9d) for detecting a capacity variation, a management unit (11) connected to the capacitive sensor (3) for processing the output signals (S1, S2, S3, S4) from the capacitive sensor (3).
