Telecommunications data recording apparatus is disclosed for use with a subordinate exchange such as a PBX (NA). Connection sets (ANA) connect exchange lines (AL) from the subordinate exchange (NA) to exchange lines (AL) from the superordinate exchange (OVSt) and detect dialling pulses, exchange line seizure and clearance and cooperate with connection sets (ANT) connected to subscriber lines (TL) of the subordinate exchange (NA) to enable identifying means (ANG) to identify each seized exchange line (AL) with a particular subscriber (TN) of the subordinate exchange that is making an outgoing call. Connection data obtained from the connection sets (ANT, ANA) is stored, via a control unit (SSP) in an intermediate store (SP) from which the data is transferred to a long term store (FD) on clearance of the relevant connection.
