The present invention relates to a video stabilization method based on filtering for reduction of unintentional motion, which can control strength of application of filtering for reduction of unintentional motion based on a change in a motion component of an image, and which can incorporate nonlinear characteristics of the image thereinto. The video stabilization method comprises the steps of: obtaining a cumulative affine transformation parameter by using a parameter of an affine transformation matrix indicative of a relationship between adjacent frames in an input video; calculating motion of the input video based on a change in the cumulative affine transformation parameter; obtaining an affine transformation matrix, in which an unintentional motion component has been reduced, by filtering the cumulative affine transformation parameter using an alpha-trimmed means motion filter whose strength has been controlled based on the motion of the input video; and obtaining a restored video, in which the unintentional motion component has been reduced, based on the affine transformation matrix in which the unintentional motion component has been reduced.
