A magnetic alloy composition, which comprises: an alloy of the formula: 34 to 37 wt.% RE 55.6 to 63.9 wt.% Co 2 to 7 wt.% Cu .05 to .40 wt.% Mg wherein RE is mischmetal or a rare earth metal excluding samarium.
