A convergence compensation device for improving a picture quality, which can be used in a color cathode ray tube having in-line type electron gun, is disclosed. Peripheral part of a picture of the color cathode ray tube is compensated by static convergence, and the rest part is compensated by dynamic convergence, and the bends of beam is thus reduced.
