A display system which can be used in a small size calculator comprised a segment scan means and a letter driving means. In the conventional method, segments are drived selectively by signal being coded, and common electrode of a letter being displayed is drived in dequence. An LSI is included in the display system, which is provided without driver of common electrode by driving the segments in sequence and driving a common electrode of the letter being displayed.
