The heating system has an insert to guide the flame, fuel gas and flue gases, comprising a tubular body of grey cast iron with ribs on the inside wall. The ribbed inside wall of the insert is split into two or more sections, the ribs being parallel to the horizontal main axis. The rib cross-section can taper slightly towards their free edges, which lie on an inscribed circle, all ribs being of approx. the same height. If the inset is divided in four sections only the ribs in the lateral sections extend horizontally, while those in upper and lower sections extend parallel to a vertical main axis.
