The all-purpose slicer or other kichen appliance can be swivelled from a storage position up into a position of use. It is set on a support which is connected for height adjustment to the swivel arm and is mounted in the arm so that it is free of rotation but can be displaced with play on all sides. The swivel arm is used for swivel mounting the appliance in the holder. The assembly unit for the appliance is now freely movable while connected to the swivel arm so that it can be extended beyond the work top, pushed back over the worktop and then lowered onto it. This allows for the various differences in height of different kitchen fitments to be compensated for. This also ensures that the appliance is not pushed back directly on the worktop which would cause scratches or other damage.
