PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal oxide particle-containing composition that suppresses color irregularity and heat curling of a coating film and allows formation of a coating film with excellent scratch resistance, and to provide a coating film, a plastic film with a coating film, and a display device obtained by using the above metal oxide particle-containing composition.SOLUTION: The metal oxide particle-containing composition comprises metal oxide particles, a basic substance, and an ultraviolet ray-curable resin component. The metal oxide particles are subjected to a surface treatment with a dispersant having a hydrolyzable group. The ultraviolet ray-curable resin component comprises: a first component that is an acrylate compound including at least three (meth)acryloyl groups in the molecule; and a second component that is a compound having a dendritic structure, in which the dendritic structure includes an ether bond or an ester bond and a (meth)acryloyl group is disposed at a terminal. The composition has a water content of 3 mass% or less with respect to the content of the metal oxide particles.SELECTED DRAWING: None
