The hang-glider parachute quick-opening device is for chutes acting on the central articulation of the glider. A reaction-driven lifter (1) acts automatically or is trigerred by the pilot to deploy the chute (25) and is connected to the apex of the chute. The lifter is mounted upright on a bracket (10) fitted near the articulation-either to the pylon (16), above it, or to the keel tube (20a)-releasably secured to a spike shaped to fit the lifter's (Laval) nozzle. At its inlet this has a valve (pref. ball) opened by a striker inside the spike fired by pulling the ripcord (14) which also tilts the spike so that the lifter clears the rigging.
|
