The garage door has a lock mechanism, which operates in such a way that when the cylinder lock fitted in a recess of the outer handle is in the locked position, the outer handle turns freely. The inner handle operates the push rod mechanism regardless of the operational condition of the cylinder lock. The handle (27) has an extension with a threaded end (36) on which the nut (37) is screwed. The assembly is accommodated in a bushing-part (38) of the inner handle (26) and the lock housing contains a nut (39) having a bush-shaped section (40) as an integral part projecting into a corresponding recess of the handle (26). The inner handle is connected with the bush-shaped section of the nut (39) by a worm screw.
