Arc welding using solid electrode and milled flux - where flux is packed in flexible sheath or tube which is easily melted or burned

The process pref. uses a consumable electrode, where the wt. ratio between the amt. of molten flux:amt. of molten metal is 0.5-2:1. The sheath is pref.f lexible, and consists e.g. of a tube made of a fabric, esp. glass fibre fabric, or a synthetic foil; and the sheath may contain materials formign part of a flux or slag. The flux per unit length, so that the flux can be accurately dosed along the seam being welded.
