<p>A solid bar or rod is wound into a helical coil, which is provided on its periphery with a tubular coil fed with cooling water. The two coils are in good thermal contact with each other to ensure heat transfer, and are pref. joined by brazing. Both coils are pref. made of profiles with a rectangular cross-section. The advantage is efficient heating of small dia. rod etc., e.g. of 5-15 mm dia., where the coil has the smallest possible inner dia. to ensure tha max. transfer of heating to the rod. Due to the efficient coupling between the coil and the workpiece, the overall length of the coil an be reduced.</p> |
