<p>Desalination plant consists of a shaft in which an ascending carrier air stream picks up evaporated sea water from atomisers in an evapn. space. In a condensn. space above it, a heat exchanger receives cold sea water and causes the water vapour to condense. The cold sea water then passess through a solar heat collector before it is atomised in the ascending air stream, produced by natural draught. The reduced consumption of electrical and/or prim. energy makes this process more profitable. The plant is simple and can be mfd. at low cost, yet it meets all functional requirements.</p> |
