Power station peak-load supply - is ensured by solid fuel gasifier with fluidised bed reactor having working temp. of over 800 degrees celsius

Meeting variable demand on power station using gas turbines is ensured by gasification of carbon-bearing material using an oxygen-containing agent. This simplifies the problem of fast response to peak loads and avoids the chemical conversion of the product by applying a fluidised-bed reactor with a working temperature of over 800 deg.C. The reactor can be restarted quickly after being laid off for longer periods of time. The ability of rapid attainment of the working regime in the reactor is due to the holding of the solid fuel storing sufficient heat for reacting. At the same time, it prevents contacting of product gas with the oxygen-containing agent. The reactor permits low-value fuel to be converted and the contaminating sulphur is bonded chemically by feeding limestone.
