The switch has a switching mechanism with contacts and is operated by an electromagnet with a moving iron core. A manual operating member is located before the electromagnet. The path of travel of the iron core cuts the path travelled by the manual operating member. The switch can thus be operated by hand independently of the current through the electromagnet. No modification to the switch is required. The iron core acts simply as intermediary. The impulse force from the manual member is transferred to the iron core, which moves and causes the switching of the contacts in the same way as it would if it has been moved by a current through the coil of the electromagnet. No special devices or mechanism is needed to link the manual member to the switching mechanism.
|
