2-(4-isobutylphenyl)propan-1-ol esters of formula (I) are new (where R is 1-19C alkyl). (I) are antiinflammatories and analgesics of low toxicity (LD50 (mouse i.g.) 498 mg/kg and LD50 (mluse p.o.) 861 mg/kg). 6 esters (I), including the acetic acid, octaneic acid and hexadecanoic acid esters, are specifically claimed.
