The invention relates to a bed mattress which consists of a fixed or separate uniting member 2, for example a case, a band or a frame, which holds together a system of insert modules 1 in which at least one module unit 6 or 7 is of another type than the other insert module units 8. The uniting member can be formed from foamed plastic or foam rubber in one or more parts with and without a bottom, and the insert module units can consist of units of suitable length and width made of foamed plastic, foam rubber or water-based cushions.
