The rivet has a driving punch moving in the driving direction, being suitable for blind riveting. At the free end of the punch hollow shank is a base (3) slotted in several places, and at least double the thickness of the shank wall (12). Thus only the wall segment (4) bends round the hole edge (6), maintaining the angle (a) between base and wall and forming a locking crown (8) of a definite pattern. The base can be arched inwards, and the driving punch can have annular grooves into which the edges of the base segments snap, preventing the punch (5) from falling out.
|
