Continuous casting apparatus comprising a tundish (3) having a first nozzle (7) positioned in an opening in an opening in the side wall of the tundish (3), a second nozzle (9), a horizontal continuous casting mould (2) and a break ring (8) at the inlet end of the mould. First resilient means urge the break ring in sealing relation with the mould and the second nozzle in sealing relation with the break ring to form an assembly and second resilient means urge the assembly towards the tundish (3) with the two nozzles in sealing relation.
