Computer controlled tone controller - enables accurate sound reproduction using numerical codes representing sounds accessed from memory

A computer controlled tone control unit or equaliser enables accurate reproduction of all the acoustic parameters of sound by an amplifier for musical applications. The parameters are also numerically recorded which facilitates setting up by the player. Each sound pattern is converted into a numerical code and stored. The numerical code can be accessed via a keyboard. Various musical effects (e.g. vibrato) can be achieved under control of the memory unit.A new type of storage system for amplifiers is used which enables easy rapid selection of any tone programme using programming of all the sound parameters. Tabular tone programmes can be provided as working material for players. Each effect has an associated increase and decrease key and setting indicator. Adjustment to different room acoustics is achieved with an adjustment stage without affecting the stored sound data.
