FIELD: electricity; technological processes.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a case for a portable electronic device. Case comprises shell (50), electroluminescent (EL) panel (10) and associated power and control electronics housed on printed circuit board (20). Electronics on PCB include connector (20) for mating with a corresponding connector on portable electronic device so as to form an electrical connection to a power source in portable electronic device. Other electrical components further provided are inverter (24) and transformer (26), to convert low voltage DC power from portable electronic device into approximately 180 V AC, as required to power EL panel (10). Shell (50) has clear back (52) through which light produced by EL panel (10) shines. Interchangeable graphics panels (100) can be slid into a pocket disposed between EL panel (10) and back (52) of shell.EFFECT: technical result consists in providing additional protective function of portable electronic device.17 cl, 10 dwg |
