A sealing frame made of insulating panels is inserted in an outside metal frame. It is used for a two-winged trap affording fire protection for openings in walls or ceilings. Metal profiles (10,10a) forming the outer frame have the inlaid fixed, sealing, insulating frame (28), and the trap wings (11,12) also made of insulating panels, with a fixing frame (3c) - arranged so that it overlaps with a sealing lip (22) on the sealing frame and a sealing groove (22) in the bodies of the wings. Labyrinthine sealing is thus peripherally formed in the overlap. There is no heat-conductive connection between the fire-protective seal and the opposite side of the opening at any point. This is easily made, transported and installed, and is compact - while affording complete fireproof sealing.
