A rod (5) from each piston is fixed on a crank (9) on a shaft (8) which rotates eccentrically. Gears (15a) on the shaft mesh with gears (15) in the casing to give a motion such that the crank moves linearly with the pistons. The shaft is supported between a half-bearing (17) concentric with it and a bearing (19) concentric with the output shaft (12a,12b). The half-bearing is held on a bearing disc (11) which revolves in the concentric bearing. The bearing disc is attached to the output shaft. This construction provides a cheap bearing arrangement.
