An automatic slack adjuster (10) for selectively engageable friction couplings such as cam actuated brakes. The slack adjuster includes a housing (34) defining a bore (42) opening to the exterior of the housing in which a worm (44) and worm shaft (52) is rotatably received. An end plug (48) is removably axially and rotationally retained in the housing to seal the bore, to axially position the worm shaft in the bore and to ground an antiback-off spring clutch (102) to the housing. |
