<p>Appts. for opening and closing rotary casting moulds consists of a magnetisable plate (1), by means of which several mould closures (3) can be applied onto or removed from their associated moulds (2). The Fig. shows the moulds (2) with their closures (3) removed and suspended from the magnetisable plate (1). In this position, locking arms are splayed outwards. When the lids (3) are set down on the moulds (2) and pressed down onto them, compressing the springs, the arms engage with their hooked ends beneath the flanges at the tops of the moulds and thus hold the lids firmly on the moulds. The magnetic plate is disconnected and removed and the moulds set in motion. To open the moulds after they have stopped, the magnetisable plate is set down on them, and by energising it the magnetic force disengages the splayed arms and the closures are lifted off the moulds. Accurate alignment of the moulds with actuating spindles etc. is not required. Heavy manual work is eliminated.</p> |
