Knitting needle - has a brake spring in groove along needle shaft

There is a longitudinal groove in at least one side wall of the shaft of the knitting needle, for use in a links-links flatbed knitter, ranging as far as the zones of the needle hooks. There is a brake spring in the groove with both ends curved to range out of the groove. The gap where the bulges lie tensed against the side walls of the needle bed groove is greater than the free space between the needle bed grooves of both needle beds. The design gives a good braking and holding action for the positioned needle, with a simple braking mechanism.
