The simple measuring arrangement achieves the necessary temp. and frequency stability for industrial measuring of the absolute and relative moisture content of yarn and foil type materials. The oscillators are used to generate two neighbouring frequencies One produces an H-oscillation in the measuring chamber while the other produces an E-oscillation. When the object to be measured is inserted, the H-wave and its assigned frequency remain constant, while the E-wave and its assigned frequency change. An evaluator ascertains at least the difference between these frequencies. The measuring chamber forms a frequency determining part of both oscillators.
