The receptacle for camera lenses has sides parallel to the lengthwise centre axis and hinged on transverse axles to a base which takes one end of the lens. The top edges of the two side sections are flush with each other, when the receptacle is open, and when the side sections are at an angle of roughly between thirty and sixty degrees to each other. The two side sections have toothed edges joining together, and have top, facing corners which are broken. A lid hinged to the outer, top side edge of the sides have a tongue-like projection on the bottom edge.
