The mixer has a drive unit mounted on a base so that it can pivot about a horizontal axis and including a planetary gearing. A socket pin (11) into which the shaft of the mixing tool is fitted is itself fitted into a mounting block (22) which can rotate about the axis of the central wheel of the planetary gearing. The bearing block (22) has a circular segment (24) cooperating with a switch to cause rotation and two additional planetary wheels, which can be inserted before or after the planetary wheel (11) driving the tool shaft, upon rotation of the bearing block (22). Pref. the circular segment (24) lies on the opposite side of the bearing block (22) to the planetary wheel (11) driving the tool shaft and extends at an angle of 120 degrees.
