The system provides an end-of-selection signal containing a fifth pulse in addition to the first pulse and following the first pulse. A special secondary signal is appended to the fifth pulse when call re-routing is required at the receive side. The secondary signal initiates the preparation of a selection receiving device at the installation that originally set up the connection. The selection receiving device when sends a selection call signal. The original calling installation sends a sequence of selection pulses followed by an end-of- selection and disconnect signal.
