Traffic handling system for PBX - reduces overall transmission times for signals using multifrequency code signals

The system engages a code input of a second installation, e.g. selected sub-installation, belonging to a branch network by means of an installation, e.g. main installation, belonging to a branch network by sending a main code. A main code is sent as selection call code by the second installation. When both the above events have occurred, the first installation sends a multi-frequency sound signal with the preceding main code. The signal is regarded as secondry code until a special label signal, also a multifrequency sound signal is sent. After the label signal has been sent, the signal is regarded as a multifrequency selection code until another label signal occurs.
