Compounds of the formula (I)

<UnorderedLists id="ula01" listStyle="none"><ListItem>R<Sub>1</Sub> is a C<Sub>1-6</Sub>alkoxy group;</ListItem><ListItem>R<Sub>2</Sub> and R<Sub>3</Sub> are the same or different and
are hydrogen, halogen, CF<Sub>3</Sub>, C<Sub>1-7</Sub>acyl. C<Sub>1-7</Sub> acylamino, C<Sub>1-6</Sub> alkyl-S(O)<Sub>n</Sub> wherein n is 0, 1 or 2, nitro. C<Sub>1-6</Sub> alkoxy, hydroxy. or amino, aminocarbonyl or aminosulphonyl optionally substituted by one or two C<Sub>1-6</Sub> alkyl groups:
or R<Sub>1</Sub> and R<Sub>2</Sub> taken together are methylenedioxy or ethylenedioxy in which case R<Sub>3</Sub> is any one of the groups given for R<Sub>1</Sub> and</ListItem><ListItem>R<Sub>2</Sub>above;</ListItem><ListItem>R<Sub>4 </Sub>is hydrogen, C<Sub>1-4</Sub>alkyl, phenyl or phenyl C<Sub>1-4</Sub> alkyl:</ListItem><ListItem>R<Sub>5</Sub> is hydrogen or C<Sub>1-4</Sub> alkyl;</ListItem><ListItem>X is an oxygen or sulphur atom; or a sulphoxide group >S ~O;</ListItem><ListItem>p is 1 or 2; and</ListItem><ListItem>r is 1 or 2; are useful in the treatment of disorders related to imparied gastro-intestinal motility.</ListItem></UnorderedLists>
