In apparatus for dispensing sheet material, e.g. paper towelling, from a roll (15b) thereof the dispensing passage 4 is defined by two nipping rollers (2a, 2b) which are disposed in facing relation to each other. At least one (2b) of these nipping members is provided with driving means (23, 24, 25) including an actuating member (25) which is accessible outside the case and adjustable means (26, 27, 29) for limiting the reciprocating travel of the actuating member. Roller (2a) is movable and rests by its weight against roller (2b) and is rotated in a contradirection to roller (2b) by friction. To dispense a predetermined length of material the actuating member (25) is pulled fully down causing the roller (2a) to rotate a predetermined number of times. <IMAGE> |
