A control arrangement for water outlet fittings is described which comprises two alternately activated transmitters for light signals or ultrasonic signals arranged on both sides of the water outlet, and a receiver which receives the signals reflected from a body part of the user and downstream of which there is connected a circuit which controls a valve situated in the water conduit to the fitting and contains an AND gate, so that a flow of water is brought about only if reflections of the signals of both transmitters are received.
