<p>A mould for injection moulding machines comprises an upper half-mould in a single piece and a lower half-mould consisting of another single component and a central component detachably connected to it; the mould inserts, i.e. the actual linings constituting the mould itself, are held replaceably in the upper part and the central part by means of clamping strips. The half-moulds slide relative to one another to open and close the mould on guide pins and bushings. Pref., each mould insert possesses, on its face remote from the opposite half-mould, two strips along opposite edges; the mould insert can be slid along these strips perpendicularly to the direction of opening of the mould into the corresponding component, i.e. upper part or central part and then fixed in the direction of movement. When prodn. of a particular type of moulding has been completed and a change to a different moulding is required, it is not necessary to remove the entire mould from the moulding machine, but only to remove the portion contg. the mould inserts.</p> |
